Like Memorial Day celebrating veterans living and dead, Veterans Day is here and yet another holiday celebrating this time only dead veterans. A holiday honoring US Miltitarism that is a fallacy falsely claiming US Soldiers fought for 'our freedoms' here at home. US veterans of all wars since the civil war, excluding WW II of course, Kosovo and perhaps WW I, did not sacrifice their lives for any individual or collective freedoms near and dear to US citizens. Excluding those few wars, since after the civil war US Soldiers have not fought nor fight now for US freedoms, but rather a political agenda of whatever ruler of the US government deems appropriate. US soldiers who are nothing more than poorly paid mercenary killers. Low paid Mercenaries ordered by their government to slaughter millions upon millions of human beings all over the world for nothing more than god, greed and/or power. These holidays can only be viewed today solely as platforms for our fascist US politicians to revel in their military supremacy and grandness with a might makes right attitude towards global domination. Nationalism and Christianity in this country go hand in hand just like in any of the other 7 protofascist regimes throughout history. To prove it, enter 'Freedom is not Free' in any search engine and you will be inundated with a bobble headed, nationalist zealousy entrenched with god bless this, that and whatever these faith based, beast brained, believers can come up with to revel in their dependence on group thought. Now this 'freedom is not free' catch phrase is one of their fascist slogans to honor veterans. Other expressions of nationalism are all those flags flaunted in pins, flying off their cars or hanging high in their yards. They are expressions of blind devotion true believers also display in their religion from xtian crosses akin to flags and cute little slogans like 'one day at a time' akin to 'freedom is not free.'  Webster's dictionary defines nationalism as a sense of national consciousness exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests above all. Such a declaration is far from a positive attitude a nation or its people can take towards the entire world around them. It is selfish, ego centric, arrogant and self serving. All the things all other nations around the world now see America as today for damn good reason - and hate us for it. Barry Goldwater's expresses todays nationalism very well with his famous lines "Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue." Goldwater was referred to by many liberals as an 'extremist superpatriot.'
Alll this nationalism is coming from silly people who today are primarlity the christian right blathering on about loving America too much no matter what the course its government takes. Leaving nation after nation around the world with its peoples glaring over imaginary country lines to see all this Americanism and nationalism as the bigotry it is from the danger it poses. Nationalism presents an authoritiarian government from its nationalist attitudes, a new American sense of Federalism Jefforson was vehemently opposed to. Nationalism supports unwielding and unyeilding massive authoritarian centralized power control exerted by the US government internally on its people and around the world.
 For the US govt's cause is not for 'world good' nor world peace, but their own selfish nationalistic interests. Remove the faith based blinders fostering unquestioned nationalism no different than the devout religious true believer and the bobbleheaded will see the truth. Nationalism is the prejudicial, self serving, nation state of ego maniacal self righteous attitude producing the immature manner this United States represents itself to the rest of the world. It is in effect, anti-everything just as Fascism was and is in serving their fascist state with their own selfish interests (more on fascism very soon far beyond the simplistic dictionary definition I just new you'd give aside from one I've never seen in a dictionary;-)
Since these irrational faith based true believers have blindly supported the Theo-NeoCons they idolize so, they have in turn helped them create this definitive fascist society found here today in America. The nationalist true believer 'freedom is not free' slogan is yet another twisted paradox of reality for the moron majority to drool over like 'moral values' and a slew of other self contradictions. In helping to create this fascist society for us all in America, the true believers are destroying the very democratic freedoms they mock by reflecting on its costs. Besides, no one 'fights' for your basic human right of freedom. You are born with this fundemental human right of freedom. Only other humans can take it away from you! Human Rights (natural rights) are "inalienable" and belonging to all humans according to natural law.
 Just as a disproportionate share of national resources was allocated to their fascist militaries, even when domestic needs were as acute as ours, we find America faced with a militarism idolized by its theofascists and their true believers. Soldiers all said to be heros and their militarism costing $536 Billion today, double what it was when Bush first 'took' office. Just under 50 cents of every federal tax dollar paid goes to military spending. Our theofascist imperialist US government spends half of what is spent by every nation in the world combined today. As it is here, all other fascist societies in history viewed their military as an expression of nationalism, and it was used whenever possible to assert national goals, intimidate other nations, and increase the power and prestige of the ruling elite.
What is honored on these two holidays? US Soldiers who did not fight for US freedoms, but the US government sending nothing more than poorly paid mercenary killers to far off lands to win their political imperialistic agendas.
